WAEPA’s Membership Grows to more than 50,000 with Acquisition of New Members from Compass Rose Benefits Group 

Falls Church, VA., June 2023: WAEPA (Worldwide Assurance for Employees of Public Agencies, Inc.) has finalized a strategic acquisition of the Group Term Life Insurance book of business from Compass Rose Benefits Group (CRBG). 

With this acquisition, WAEPA now proudly serves more than 50,000 Civilian Federal Employees and their families. 

WAEPA and CRBG have over 75 years of experience exclusively serving Federal employees and share the same underwriter in New York Life Insurance Company. 

“WAEPA and Compass Rose have both been dedicated to serving Federal employees since the 1940s and have a shared commitment to providing exceptional service to our memberships,” said WAEPA CEO, M. Shane Canfield. “This collaboration is an opportunity for WAEPA to expand our reach and serve more Civilian Federal Employees. We welcome our new members and look forward to providing them and their families with the best service possible.”  

CRBG’s members were notified of their policy change in late April, with WAEPA coverage taking full effect by July 1, 2023.
