David West

David West is a dedicated IT Leader with over 15 years of success in the strategic development, execution, and management of the IT strategic plan. He is CISSP certified and an expert in ensuring that organizations have the right technology in place to use as a tool for achieving growth. David joined WAEPA in 2023, after working in the financial services and K-12 education sectors. 

In his role at WAEPA, David leads the development of IT strategy and ensures the smooth integration with WAEPA’s comprehensive strategic planning process and the resulting business strategy. 

David holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – Information Technology from Old Dominion University and a Master of Science in Information Technology from Virginia Tech. He is currently serving as the Communications Chair for SIMCAC (Society for Information Management, Capital Area Chapter) and on the Board of Advisors for the ITML Institute (IT Management and Leadership Institute).  

In his free time, David and his husband love to camp up and down the east coast.
