WAEPA Proudly Continues Scholarship Program for Its 18th Year
The nonprofit organization has awarded more than $2.8 million in tuition assistance since 2007, including $210,000 to this year’s winners.
WAEPA (Worldwide Assurance for Employees of Public Agencies, Inc.) is a nonprofit formed in 1943 to serve Civilian Federal Employees. Over the last eight decades, WAEPA has become the choice of more than 50,000 Feds and their families, who rely on WAEPA to be there during life’s biggest moments.
WAEPA proudly offers exclusive Group Term Life Insurance and Group Short-Term Disability Insurance to the Federal workforce, and also gives back to its members, including a longstanding scholarship program.
What is the WAEPA Scholarship Program?
WAEPA’s Scholarship Program was started in 2007 as a way for the organization to give back to dependent children of its members. Each year, WAEPA provides tuition assistance to up to 90 students – more than 1,200 total since the program’s inception.
These scholarships are open to students attending both two- and four-year colleges as well as vocational/technical schools. Applicants must be children of a WAEPA member under the age of 23 and maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.0 to qualify for a scholarship.
About the 2023-24 Winners
WAEPA is proud to highlight this year’s Scholarship Program recipients. These 89 winners represent more than 73 higher education institutions across 33 states. Of the recipients, 79 will continue their educational pursuits at four-year colleges and universities, while the remaining 10 will seek to hone their skills through vocational-technical programs.
