WAEPA’s launches Strategic Impact Partnerships with Federal organizations through 2025

Falls Church, VA., December 2024: WAEPA (Worldwide Assurance of Employees for Public Agencies, Inc.) is pleased to announce its Strategic Impact Partnership program. WAEPA will partner with three Federal organizations through 2025: AAFEA (African American Federal Executive Association), BIG (Blacks in Government) and WIFLE (Women in Federal Law Enforcement).

“WAEPA is proud to reaffirm our commitment to serving the Federal community by partnering with these three organizations, all of whom are driving substantial change in the Federal workforce,” said WAEPA CEO M. Shane Canfield. “Through our Strategic Impact Partnership program, we aim to support initiatives that provide tangible opportunities for leadership development, career advancement, and education, strengthening the future of the Federal workforce.”

African American Federal Executive Association (AAFEA)

Founded in February 2002, AAFEA is the leading nonprofit organization dedicated to preparing and supporting African Americans for advancement into and within the senior ranks of the Federal government.

With this corporate sponsorship, WAEPA will look to bolster AAFEA’s existing initiatives that support our audience of Federal employees. WAEPA will work closely with AAFEA’s leadership team throughout 2025, specifically with regard to their Senior Executive Service (SES) forums, scholarship opportunities, and AAFEA’s 21st Annual Leadership Development Workshop.

“As we prepare to close out another wonderful year at AAFEA, we are proud to announce this partnership with WAEPA. This collaboration strengthens our shared commitment aimed at driving greater impact and supporting those who serve our nation.  We look forward to working together to deliver greater value to the federal community,” said AAFEA president, Tyra Dent

Blacks in Government (BIG)

BIG was established in 1975 and incorporated in 1976 with a mission to enable all present and future Black employees in Local, State, and Federal governments to have the ability to maximize their career opportunities and provide a mechanism for inclusion, growth and advocacy.

In 2009, BIG established their Future Leaders in America’s Government (FLAG) Program, a mentorship program for middle school, high school and college students. The goal of FLAG is to encourage these students to consider the Federal government as a career path moving forward.

WAEPA became a corporate sponsor of BIG, specifically the FLAG Program, in 2021. We are excited to continue our support of this incredible program and the future of the Federal workforce.

“Both WAEPA and BIG are organizations with histories of supporting the Federal workforce and providing Feds with the tools needed to succeed. At the same time, we both have an eye towards ensuring that the future of public service is bright,” said BIG president, the Honorable Shirley A. Jones, Esq. “BIG is excited to continue our partnership with WAEPA and shared interest in sustaining the strength of the Federal workforce.”

Women in Federal Law Enforcement (WIFLE)

WIFLE is a nonprofit organization founded in June of 1999. WIFLE, Inc. and WIFLE Foundation, Inc. continue to expand the work of an inter-agency committee formed by the U.S. Departments of Justice and Treasury in the 1970s, addressing issues related to the underrepresentation of women in Federal law enforcement.

WAEPA is proud to partner with WIFLE, specifically supporting their WIFLE Engagement and Community Impact (WECI) Program. This initiative works to enhance WIFLE’s outreach efforts, allowing WIFLE to connect with women, young girls and boys, while demonstrating their dedication to closing the gender equity gap in law enforcement.

“For 25 years, WIFLE has been a proud champion for women to ascend through the ranks of Federal law enforcement. We remain committed to supporting women who serve through outreach, networking, education, and mentorship programs. WAEPA, too, is a champion of the Federal workforce and we are excited for the impact this partnership will have,” said WIFLE president Catrina Bonus

WAEPA remains exceedingly proud of our 80-year history of serving the Federal government and promoting the health, welfare and financial well-being of Feds and their families. Our Strategic Impact Partnerships offer an opportunity to expand this commitment and increase WAEPA’s material impact on our Federal audience.
